The American Gulag: UN Asks Groups to Report on U.S. Rights Violations

Because the U.N. Rights Commission which is tasked with monitoring compliance by it's member nations with the U.N. Human Rights Accord, because it can't get the U.S. to issue the yearly report it is required to do under the accord, for the first time in history the U.N. has requested groups which monitor human rights violations to submit reports on the U.S.'s human rights violations. The reason the U.S. has been failing to report it's own violations is clearly because it has become one of the world's major human rights violators. This is a sad comentary on a country that at least used to portray itself as a supporter of human rights.

Don't move!

One morning in the zendo as we were all silently sitting zazen, Suzuki Roshi said, "Don't move. Just die over and over. Don't anticipate. Nothing can save you now, because this is your last moment. Not even enlightenment will help you now, because you have no other moments. With no future, be true to yourself-and don't move."

-Suzuki Roshi from "To Shine One Corner Of The World" by David Chadwick

Who are the real terrorists: The case of Luis Posada Carriles

"Those who harbour a terrorist, those who protect a terrorist are as guilty as the terrorist himself"
-George W.Bush

Luis Posada Carriles is a known terrorist with connections to the CIA and FBI. He also has been connected to the Colombian drug trade. He is wanted by Cuba and Venezuela for the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed 73 people. He escaped from prison in Venezuela while on trial for the bombing of the Cuban airliner. He is now being held in the US in luxurious circumstances by the Department Of Homeland security but a judge has refused Venezuela's extradition request even though the US has a extradition treaty with Venezuela dating from 1922. The judge claims that Carriles would be tortured. The truth is that Carriles was so connected to the CIA that if he were to talk in open court it would reveal the extent of the US involvement in world terrorism. The CIA wants him dead and/or silent.

You can access the declassified documents from the US government. Realize that this is only what the government has chosen to declassify. This is only the tip of the iceberg and does not reveal the full extent of Carriles involvement with US/CIA sponsored terrorism. It does document the US governement's knowledge of Carriles' activities as far back as 1976. What it does not reveal is the US government's involvement.

The Shredding of the Constitution: The 5th Amendment

Below is the actual text of the 5th amendment of the constitution of the United States, sometimes known as the 'Bill of Rights'. Emphasis mine.

Amendment V

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Contrast this very direct and succinct language with this court case recently decided by 3 judges, one of which is now the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court:

U.S. Can Confine Citizens Without Charges, Court Rules

Enlightenment and the Extinction of 'Me'

By Weiwuwei from "All Else Is Bondage" Non-Volitional Living

Doing away with the I-notion is the same as not desiring the personal attainment of enlightenment.

Not desiring that (the 'last desire', the 'last barrier') is 'having it', for 'having it' is in any case merely being rid of that which concealed what is forever that which alone we are.

Therefore not desiring personal attainment of that is at the same time the elimination of the I-notion which constitutes its concealment.

The idea of liberation automatically inhibits the simple realization that we are free.

Note: Free, we are not number One, the first of all our objects, but Zero--their universal and Absolute Subject. This is illustrated by the famous 'TENTH MAN' story.
