As a long time photographer who was a loyal Kodachrome user but who used every other type of film but always returned to his Kodachrome standard, I was devastated when Kodak decided to end its production of Kodachrome film a few years ago. As I scan my archives, there is no film that has the archival permanenance of Kodachrome. Its beauty and its permanence was unequaled by any film available including the competing films from Kodak such a Ectachrome.
The second shoe has dropped and now it seems that kodak itself is about to enter chapter 11 which would have a devastating effect on legacy film processing. No more Tri-X, no more D-76, no more Xtol. What are we to do?
